Element summaries
I like the way elements are summarized. In particular including the "Contexts in which this element may be used" is a nice addition. For the content model, perhaps we could provide some sort of quick glance list style for seeing what elements are allowed. I don't quite know how it should look, but here's a first shot (obviously the presentation and notation could be very different, but I'm looking for something more than the short-hand we got on earlier recommendations):
- 1 caption (optional)
- 0 or more colgroup
- 1 thead (optional)
- 1 tfoot (1 optional either before or after the tbody)
- 0 or more tbody or tr
- 1 tfoot (1 optional either before or after the tbody)
Basically, I'm trying to make it something that a quick glance will provide an author with the content model and I think a list of a table might help facilitate that. (Rob Burns)
allowed versus expected
Is there any importance to the distinction between "allowed" and "expected"? as in "Where block-level elements are expected" or "Where block-level elements are allowed". If not the draft should select one and stick with it. If this is explained anywhere in the draft, I apologize for missing it. (Rob Burns)
Markup
In a thread thread started by Mynthon <mynthon1@gmail.com> some members discussed using exemplary and easy to read markup. Suggestions included always using explicit closing tags, even when optional; Also some suggested always including quotation marks even when not required. (Rob Burns)
