Web Credits OnBoarding

Web Credits is currently supported via a Freenode IRC Channel #webcredits.

The IRC Channel features a BOT can send you WebCredits if you have a WebID FOAF Record suitably defined.

IRC is communication tool. Freenode is an IRC service. Here is a list of IRC Clients

The Simple Way to get a WebID with a TestNet3 Address

• The fastest way to create a WebID and FOAF record is by going to The Cimba Microblogging Application and filling out the "sign-up" form. Once you've done this, goto your dataspace and edit your Profile Card File.

• For example. If you sign-up to RWW.io, with a subdomain called 'test.rww.io' then your FOAF file would be located at 'test.rww.io/profile/'. By clicking on the 'edit' button of the Card, you'll be able to edit your FOAF file.

• You'll need to get a Bitcoin TestNet address. Many Options exist, including Counterwallet or Bitcoin wallet for Android or bitaddress
• Once you have a TestNet Address - ADD the following information: <https://w3id.org/cc#testnet3> <bitcoin:mrpo2cZ5moYMdfGoboKGQfMbcnuLTo9aV6> into your FOAF file. - remembering to change the BitCoin TestNet Address.

#WebCredits Bot Information

• You'll need to register your IRC Nick - before linking your IRC Username to the #WebCredits Faucet.
• !activate faucet = Creates a WebCredits Credit to Participants who've been included in the list.
• !help provides information from the WCBot
• !balance = Gives you a WebCredit balance Response
  •  !pay [experimental] the bot can make a payment on your behalf it it knows your key

NB: Its advised that you register your Nick on Freenode before linking it to your FOAF record.
