Description Mary Holstege 2006-04-12 21:35:50 UTC
Section 3.2.5 (FTStopwordOption) says
Stop word lists can be combined using the usual semantics of "except" and "union".

This is not quite right: except and union apply only to nodes, so the
normal semantics do not apply and these are not the XQuery union and except
operators.

Closing as fixed. The revision is in <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-query-fttf/2006Apr/0058.html>
Comment 2 Pat Case 2006-04-25 12:58:42 UTC
Marking bug as closed since the reporter was present and concurred in the solution to add the following text to 3.2.5 FTStopwordOption:
<p>Multiple stop word lists may be combined using "union" or "except".
If "union" is specified, every string occurring in the lists
specified by the left-hand side or the right-hand side is a stop
word. If "except" is specified, only strings occurring in the list
specified by the left-hand side but not in the list specified
by the right-hand side are stop words. </p>
