This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
The following error message was given when validating a piece of HTML: Software error: HTML::Template->new() : can't mkdir /var/tmp/wmvs-HEAD/a0 (file_cache => 1): Read-only file system at /usr/local/validator/httpd/cgi-bin/check line 859. For help, please send mail to the webmaster ([no address given]), giving this error message and the time and date of the error. I would suggest that, it's not good to tell people your directory structure (from a security perspective). It also seems that the email address is not set up. I'd at least default to giving the link of the bug reporting URL instead. So, even if you DO fix the cause, I'd recommend ensuring that this message doesn't give away any directory structures. It's hard for me not to report the directory structure, so you might want to redact that fairly soon? Entirely up to you.
