• XML is not really self-describing at this stage in its development.
• Tim BL: An encrypted document is screaming "decrypt me!"
• Dependencies with Schema and XSLT - and now we want to add the Semantic Web as a dependency!
• Yet easy to make a XML vocabulary that says directly in the document "Decrypt me!" or "Call a Web Service and puts its return value here!"
• Henry Thompson is working on lambdaXML to do exactly that...
