http://www.w3.org/ — 19 April 2016 — The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) announced today that Tim Berners-Lee, Web Inventor and W3C Director, will deliver a keynote address on Tuesday, 10 May 2016 at IDPF DigiCon, the annual digital publishing conference hosted by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) and co-located with Book Expo America (BEA) at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, USA. In his address, "Realizing the Vision of Publishing Technology with Web Technology," Berners-Lee will preview new ways people may read in the future -- not just on eReaders, tablets and mobile devices, but also in automobiles and in large-screen formats -- made possible by the Web's rich media environment for digital publishing.
According to Berners-Lee, we are even closer now to realizing the transformative vision of publishing on the Web being completely aligned with Web technology, which is the most open, interoperable and accessible global platform in history. He will also explain how the W3C, in collaboration with IDPF and others in the publishing ecosystem, is working today to accelerate the development of foundational Web technologies and standards to achieve this vision.
