W3C is pleased to announce the advancement of XML Schema to Proposed Recommendation. XML schemas provide a superset of the capabilities found in XML document type definitions (DTDs). XML Schema Part 0: Primer is an introduction. XML Schema Part 1: Structures specifies the XML Schema definition language for describing the structure and constraining the contents of XML documents.
