XML Base and XLink Become W3C Recommendations

The World Wide Web Consortium today released XML Base and XML Linking Language (XLink) as W3C Recommendations. The specifications are stable, and have been reviewed by the W3C Membership, who favor their adoption by industry. XLink provides a way to allow elements to be inserted into XML documents in order to create and describe links between resources; XML Base provides a way to indicate the URI base for linking in XML.
