The XML Protocol Working Group has released Working Drafts of SOAP Version 1.2 and the XML Protocol Abstract Model. Publicly developed and based on SOAP/1.1 (Simple Object Access Protocol), SOAP is a data transfer protocol designed for information exchange on the Web, using XML as its encapsulation language.
