Many people still think of the Web in terms of browsers, HTML, JavaScript and CSS. However, the Web is so much more than that. This talk will cover Dave Raggett\'s work on ubquitous web applications, model-based design, and the increasing role of the Semantic Web. This will be followed by an outline of Dave\'s latest work on exploring the potential for applying the Semantic Web to financial data, and research questions on scaling and the web of trust.
