Proposed Group: Brazilian Digital Publishing Community Group
Posted on:The Brazilian Digital Publishing Community Group has been proposed by Selma Morais:
The purpose of the brazilian’s community group is to promote and foster the discussions around digital publications in Brazil, stimulate the adoption of the e-pub 3.1 standard by publishers and developers.
The local group will translate W3C / IDPF documents, guidelines and specifications to minimize barriers with the non-native language and help in the understanding of the standards for a growing number of people. It is also the responsibility of this group, bring questions and pertinent feedbakcs to W3C’s Publishing Working Group.
The group will organize regular meetings and events to mobilize more and more participants in local debates and also as a way to stimulate the e-pub 3.1 adoption by the Brazilian publishing industry.
You are invited to support the creation of this group. Once the group has a total of five supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work. In order to support the group, you will need a W3C account.
Once launched, the group will no longer be listed as “proposed”; it will be in the list of current groups.
If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please send us email on site-comments@w3.org
Thank you,
W3C Community Development Team
I found this group crucial to integrate the Brazilian Dpub community to W3C Dpub activity. Language is still a barrier to overcome. This group will play this important role of bringing up local concerns.
