The Blockchain Community Group has been proposed by Mountie Lee:

generate message format standard of Blockchain based on ISO20022
generate guideline for usage of storage related with blockchain
including torrent, public blockchain, private blockchain, sideChain and CDN

You are invited to support the creation of this group. Once the group has a total of five supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work. In order to support the group, you will need a W3C account.

Once launched, the group will no longer be listed as “proposed”; it will be in the list of current groups.

If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please send us email on site-comments@w3.org

Thank you,

This sounds like a subset of the Hyperledger project from the Linux Foundation https://www.hyperledger.org/

The first point is very specific to payments. Is this group just looking at the application of Blockchain technology for the payments use case?

The second point is focused on storage which is just one component of Blockchain technologies. What about others like consensus algorithms, hashing algorithms and peer-2-peer protocols?

Finally, what is the group’s definition of blockchain as there are many a varied definitions

    • the first approach was for financial sectors.
      but does not restricting boundaries.
(need to talk about the scope with members)

      for the storage,
we need more inputs to overcome the limitation of blockchain.

we are trying to touch blockchain as technology level including various types of blockchain implementation
the definition can be discussed with members.

      • I agree. Blockchain is an open technology impacting all ICT domains, not only fintech. From AI to IoT its applications are numerous and I think we need to discuss about the future standards recommandations to facilitate a minimal interoperability in consensus processes and transactions. Next DApps, APIs or SDKs should be able to share a lot of objects from a chain to another one. It wouldn’t be possible without common minimal references.
