Geolocation

The Augmented Web is Location aware and your spatial context can shape the content and interfaces that you have access to.

At a high level there are the concepts of Locations and Addresses. The Locations and Addresses Community Group is focusing on this area.

At a lower level there is WGS-84 style location information that consists of Latitude, Longitude and Altitude and is provided through the Geolocation API. The accuracy of this location data varies significantly. Generally it varies most in the early stages of location detection and this is most noticeable when using the getCurrentPosition() API early on in a session.

Here are the beginnings of a general discussion paper on how this impacts the User Experience across a wide range of geolocation based Augmented Web applications.
