Discussion Topic: Research Computing Community of Practice Microcredentials and Macrocredentials
IACG Welcomes Guest Speaker: Dr. Henry Neeman, Executive Director for Research Computing, Director of the OU Supercomputing Center for Education & Research, Associate Professor in the Gallogly College of Engineering and Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma.
The Certified Cyberinfrastructure Facilitator Training & Development (CCIFTD) program is developing microcredentials (badges) that can be aggregated into a professional development certification. CCIFTD is based on the highly successful Research Computing Facilitators Virtual Residency program, which trains professionals who work with researchers to help them learn and use large scale and advanced computing, in order to improve and expand the computing/data-intensive aspects of their research. In this presentation, we'll explore the Virtual Residency and CCIFTD, and hear about progress and experience in developing the badges and certification.
Dr. Henry Neeman received his BS in computer science and his BA in statistics with a minor in mathematics in 1987 from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, his MS in CS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 1990 and his PhD in CS from UIUC in 1996.
Prior to coming to OU, Dr. Neeman was a postdoctoral research associate at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at UIUC, and before that served as a graduate research assistant both at NCSA and at UIUC's Center for Supercomputing Research & Development.
In addition to his own teaching and research, Dr. Neeman co-founded and co-leads the OneOklahoma Cyberinfrastructure Initiative, the Research Computing Facilitators Virtual Residency Program, and the Certified Cyberinfrastructure Facilitator Training & Development program.

Hello WG and our fellow TPAC attendees,
Please see below the updated meeting info with agenda and IRC chat info added. We will be using the same WG Zoom room for the full day of W3C TPAC F2F / hybrid WG meeting.
The proposed agenda consists of two major parts - one is spec-related and the second half is dedicated to conformance testing. I expect that the full day schedule would be a good fit to accommodate it, with the scheduled break in between two parts of the discussion.
Thank you, and looking forward to our upcoming meeting next week.
