This page is a draft collection of information on guidelines
and standards relating to Web accessibility, to be used for informal coordination
of efforts on common technical approaches to accessibility across a variety
of Web technologies. Note that there is a separate reference page of links
to Policies Relating
to Web accessibility.
We do not wish to encourage the proliferation of different standards and
guidelines for Web accessibility, but rather the harmonization of approaches
and requirements in order to promote consistent supporting implementations
in Web sites, browsers, multimedia players, authoring tools, accessibility
checkers, etc.
Note that this page does not represent official liaison between the World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and any of the organizations listed on these page.
Only W3C team members are authorized
to make representations on behalf of W3C to other organizations.
We are currently compiling information for the
following standards and/or guidelines efforts. Please send any additions
or corrections to wai@w3.org, and include
where possible the following information, with URI's if available. (Note
some outdated but previously compiled
information that needs to be integrated here, and set a redirect to here
from the old page.)
