I notice that the introductory document for http://www.w3.org/ contains a
BASE HREF= element. Considering that many (the majority, to be sure) W3
browsers don't yet support the BASE element, I'd think that it would be better
for "the home of the WWW" to use a line of the sort:
Redirect / http://www.w3.org/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html
in the server's configuration. It is hard when using a pure HTML2 browser
that does not support <BASE> to browse www.w3.org >>to find a newer browser<<!
