For example
A document MYDOC is provided on an FTP site.
The details of the site are stored in a forwarding document.
The user starts with the UDI
http://argo.upenn.edu/1723576123
or
dip{
host:argo.upenn.edu
token:1723576123
}
which it uses to access the argo server. The server returns a document
containing the access details for the document itself:
ftp{
host:asghd.sdf.edu
port#21
path:/pub/junk/dpc/x.ps
}
This is simplified (and may be wrong - Tim) but shows the difference
between the W3 model in which the server would return a pointer
to the FTP document as another UDI, allowing the user to make links
directly to
file://asghd.sdf.edu:21/pub/junk/dpc/x.ps
