Hello, this is a comment on behalf of the i18n core Working Group. See comment 1 at http://www.w3.org/International/reviews/0807-xsd11/ We believe that support for XML 1.1. is no longer necessary, once XML 1.0 5th edition is approved. We therefore suggest that you reference XML 1.0 5th edition and drop the reference to XML 1.1. Thank you, Felix
At its telcon of 2008-09-05, the XML Schema WG declined to take any action on this issue, classifying it WORKSFORME, on the grounds that XML 1.0 5th edition hasn't yet been approved as an Edited Recommendation, and that even when it is there is no guarantee that the XML Core WG will ever propose to deprecate XML 1.1, or that such a proposal would be accepted. It is therefore at best premature to make any change to XML Schema 1.1 at this time. Please respond to let us know if you are satisfied with this response.
Hello Henry, we have discussed this issue, see http://www.w3.org/2008/09/17-core-irc#T14-55-44 we agree with your resolution for now. If XML 1.0 5th edition is approved we would come back to you. Thank you, Felix
The WG decided that this issue would be nice to have, but is to hard to put into XSD 1.1.
Sorry, the previous comment does not apply. I closed the wrong bug by mistake. Reopening.
