In the Microsoft "schema" test set, the following three tests follow the same pattern <test group="schA2" name="schA2.i"/> <test group="schA5" name="schA5.i"/> <test group="schA7" name="schA7.i"/> In each case there is a mix of schemas preloaded by the test driver, and identified using xsi:schemaLocation; in each case the expected result is that the instance is invalid; but it's not clear why. The instances all seem to be valid. But the tests are very dependendent on the precise rules for selecting a schema for validation, which the spec leaves somewhat implementation-defined.
The following testcase also applies: msData/schema/schG14.xsd
Agreed that this test should not be published as a compliance test. We are following up with the WG to determine the process of updating the test suite.
schG14 is slightly different, but basic point is the same. All four of these need to be just removed.
WG agrees this test is implementation dependent and should be marked as such.
