Suggestion: The service-provider has implemented a compensation policy for disputes arising in connection with the privacy statement. We discussed the fact, that compensation doesn't mean necessarily to also correct the errors involved with a dispute or violation of the policy. In order to express that errors will also be corrected, <money> and <correct> would have to be present in the policy. We felt, that we should add some explanation to the specification. From 5 november minutes http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-p3p-spec/2003Nov/0003.html
Old proposals were: If the service provider violates its privacy policy it will pay the individual an amount specified in the human readable privacy policy or the amount of damages. DS: PROPOSAL 1: [Change the subelement name to "compensate."] PROPOSAL 2: If the service-provider violates its privacy policy, it will compensate the individual according to the terms specified in the human-readable privacy policy. We decided not to change the element name <money /> for compatibility-reasons
Consensus at the 3 december meeting: "We will compensate individuals if it is determined that we have violated our privacy policy."
current text in the spec: The entity has implemented a compensation policy for disputes arising in conection with the privacy statement.
