This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
If a schema declares a default attribute with a qualfied name (a:b="some value"), it appears that the PSVI does not fixup the [in-scope namespaces] and [namespace attributes] properties. It is therefore possible for these attributes to get out of sync. See http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/w3c-xml-schema-wg/2002Jan/0090.html This was an issue opened against XML Schema 1.0. See bug 2102.
See also bug 2830.
This is the first of three issues raised by Jonathan Marsh in email of 24 January 2002. The first is recorded in bug 2102 (for 1.0) and both this bug (bug 2105) and bug 2830 (for 1.1); the second in bug 2103 (for 1.0) and bug 2748 (for 1.1); the third in bug 4159 (for both versions).
A proposal to resolve this issue was approved at the WG's meeting in New Orleans at the end of January. Final amendments to the wording were approved in the call today, and the wording is being integrated into the status quo text. Accordingly, I'm marking this issue as resolved. The short description of the resolution is: the infoset fixup described in the issue description is now required, although some details of how it is performed are implementation-defined or even implementation-dependent. The originator of the issue, Jonathan Marsh, will be contacted separately, as will the XML Core Working Group, which is responsible for the XInclude spec from which the issue arose.
