It looks like the script for processing named code points [1] (that we used to implement decision for ISSUE-150 “Code point verbosity” [2]) is skipping over the less-than sign. E.g., in the bullet list of section 2.5.5 [4], items are formatted like this: ">" (U+003E) character . . . except for the less-than sign, which is formatted like this: U+003C LESS-THAN SIGN character (<) Most likely because in the source file, it is the only entry that uses an entity reference rather than the character itself.
