Section 5.1 Minimal Conformance contains the following: 2. A definition of every item specified to be implementation-defined, unless that item is part of an optional feature that is not supported by the implementation. A list of implementation-defined items can be found in D Implementation-Defined Items. Note: Implementations are not required to define items specified to be implementation-dependent. 3. Support for [XQuery and XPath Data Model (XDM) 3.0], as specified in 5.3 Data Model Conformance. 4. Support for all functions defined in [XQuery and XPath Functions and Operators 3.0]. Bullet 2 appears to require a definition of every implementation-defined item that appears only XQuery 3.0. This is somewhat supported by the non-normative note in D Implementation-Defined Items, which says: "Additional implementation-defined items are listed in [XQuery and XPath Data Model (XDM) 3.0] and [XQuery and XPath Functions and Operators 3.0]." I suggest that bullets 3 and 4 be modified: 3. Support for [XQuery and XPath Data Model (XDM) 3.0], as specified in 5.3 Data Model Conformance. [Insert: and a definition of every item specified to be implementation-defined, unless that item is part of an optional feature that is not supported by the implementation.] 4. Support for all functions defined in [XQuery and XPath Functions and Operators 3.0]. [Insert: and a definition of every item specified to be implementation-defined, unless that item is part of an optional feature that is not supported by the implementation.]
The Working Group agreed to this change in today's meeting.
