In the latest XSD 1.1 structures draft spec at, http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2004/06/xmlschema-1/structures.omni.20101029.html the section "3.8.4.1.3 All-groups" describes an XML instance example as follows: For example, given the model group M <xs:all> <xs:element name="a" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="5"> <xs:element name="b" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"> <xs:element name="c" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="5"> </xs:element> </xs:all> This example is not well-formed. I would suggest this to be corrected as follows: For example, given the model group M <xs:all> <xs:element name="a" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="5" /> <xs:element name="b" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" /> <xs:element name="c" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="5" /> </xs:all>
