Meeting minutes

<janina> gb, off

<gb> janina, issues and names were already off.

Agenda Review & Announcements

janina: one announcement - there is a call for consensus with a quick turn around

matatk: don't need we need to get into as a subtopic - but thanks from myself and janina for all your work and raised concerns

matatk: we have three separate issues, please vote in call for consensus

matatk: thanks again to all that contributed to the review

Fazio: apologies for having no time to review, but saw the general comments and changes

janina: comments made make sense even if you haven't read the document

janina: fair to say you don't need to read through the document to judge if comments are fair and sound

Dr_Keith: i feel comfortable with the comments made

janina: we would like to contextualise comments, call for testing, calls for clarity

NehaJ: comments cover everything, you don't need to go through the document

janina: agreed, you can look through proposed comments without having to read full document

Gottfried: looked briefly through the document, in europe we have the same (chapter 11), WCAG transposed to software

Gottfried: for some of the criteria it may be hard to apply to software

Gottfried: wondering what we will do with the EN when have WCAG for ICT

Gottfried: in favour of it, but looking forward to discussion in the EU

janina: want to give people some comfort that diving into the document is not critical at this points, we are only identifying gaps that are in scope

janina: because of the deadline, there is a deadline by the 6th, there is an expiration date for voting

janina: any further questions

matatk: a couple of things - some acknowledgment as to the inveracities to mapping wcag success criteria to non web context + encourage people to comment on areas that are not covered

TPAC 2024 Planning

janina_: tpac is ever closer, calendar is getting full and the group's wiki page is yet to be put together

janina: meetings scheduled already in the calendar, rooms are available. time and date still to be set

janina: who else planning to attend in person? (and how many are we expecting virtually)

<Zakim> matatk, you wanted to mention calendar idea + ask who's attending IRL

matatk: idea for scheduling is to use the w3c tool and building our agendas using that tool

matatk: who is coming to TPAC in person?

<matatk> +1

<Fazio> +1

<janina_> +0

<Gottfried> -1

<Roy> +1

<Dr_Keith> +0

<Dr_Keith> not attending

janina: EPUB session will be scheduled at early hours

Fazio: for info we will be working on maturity models in TPC

janina: participating remotely is meaningful (though mindful of time differences)

Task Force & Deliverables Updates

janina: nothing specific on this right now, any updates from anyone?

New Charters Review

HR A11y Review Comment Tracker

Roy: we can jump to item 7, there is no new comments on the charter this week

Explicit Review Requests

New on TR

Accessibility Conformance Testing (ACT) Rules Format 1.1

<Roy> - tracker: https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Accessibility_Conformance_Testing_(ACT)_Rules_Format_1.1

<Roy> - spec: https://www.w3.org/TR/act-rules-format-1.1/

Roy: there are two new publications this week, links in irc

Dr_Keith: how does reviewing the document and getting involved work

janina: joining the working group is a good way to get involved

Fazio: you can joint as many groups as you want

janina_: correction that companies can join any group, invited experts are invited to specific ones

janina_: value at this point is to get a sense how they reach consensus on conformance testing

<Zakim> matatk, you wanted to talk about deadline

matatk: comments on the wording and clarity of the ACT working draft

matatk: note that they asked for comments by the 18th of august for this early draft

NehaJ: i would like to be part of this group

Fazio: will add Neha to the group

Fredrik: anyone know if there is a plan to make the things they wrote about in the introduction?

janina_: the titiling hasn't changed from the last round and they are not planning to drastically change things

Roy: a clarification that the 18th of august is not a deadline for us, we can review the document when they request a transition, like CR

CSS Scroll Snap Module Level 2

<Roy> - tracker: https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/CSS_Scroll_Snap_Module_Level_2

<Roy> - spec: https://www.w3.org/TR/css-scroll-snap-2/

CSS Update (Paul)

<PaulG> w3c/csswg-drafts#10289

PaulG: one thing to being up - there is an issue for when you get to the end of an input with the cursor caret, it's not very well described what should happen in that event

PaulG: after discussion, fallback is accessible and designers can add padding. that's a win

Actions check-in

janina_: any updates on actions from anyone

matatk: update on a long running action: working behind the scenes on improving the processes we use and taking advantage of the W3C architecture on github

matatk: more updates about streamlining our processes will be shared in due time

<matatk> issues/assigned

matatk: process changes already happening: moved to the w3c calendar, also good at sending meeting reminders/details prior
