Meeting minutes

IE Requests

McCool: next week there will be a presentation from an IE applicant

Minutes

<kaz> July-3

McCool: we reviewed them in the chairs call

McCool: any remarks?

McCool: minutes are approved

Quick Items

DT for Smart Cities IG

McCool: what is the status?

Kaz: we got a last-minute comment from a Member, and am handling that in addition to the official TiLT review.

Networks IG

McCool: they are spinning up a CG for Edge Computing
… we can include in a new charter in the future as a W3C internal liaison

Calendar

McCool: we have cancelled the meetings going forward. Now this is looking nicer
… but this is still not nice

Daniel: we just took something
… the Zoom link can be fixed

McCool: also the calendar link points to IG calendar

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-wot-wg/2024Jun/0001.html

Ege: no one expressed interest in using this page so we will not spend time on improving this page. If you are using, please reply to the email linked above
… also all events are in one calendar, no split to IG and WG

Kaz: issues should be raised on the marketing github so that the Marketing TF can deal with the issues. that would be better than discussing the problems during the main call :)

Sebastian: this is nice. It would be good to have links to the wiki

McCool: more people may use this if it is nicer. let's create GitHub issues on wot-marketing as Kaz suggested.

McCool: btw, have updated the ending date of the calls based on the updated IG Charter (19 May 2026)

adopters

Ege: it would be nice to list adopters in our webpage. if everybody agrees, we can find out how to do this by talking with marcomm

McCool: I find it valuable
… let's create an issue and talk with marcomm

Kaz: "Adopters" here could include both the Members non-member companies, so we should mention that when we talk with the MarComm Team

McCool: yes. but this is not a W3C press release nor a testimonial

w3c/wot-marketing#496 is the adopters issue

Meetups

McCool: any information?

Mizushima: there is a use case event by JP CG in July 26

Liaisons

McCool: OPC Foundation statement of support is given. We are waiting for something public

Sebastian: I can forward an email but the public URL is not ready yet

<kaz> W3C Liaisons table

<kaz> kaz: asking the Liaisons Team about how to update the liaison table for OPC and ETSI (to make myself as the WoT contact)

McCool: if you are interested, please send an email to team-wot

cancellations

McCool: Are a significant amount of people missing in july or august?

<kaz> Cancellations

<kaz> (some discussion about summer vacation)

McCool: it seems that the last two weeks of august is going to be holiday for us all

Publication Schedule

<kaz> schedule.md

<kaz> mm: please create PRs to update the schedule

F2F

TPAC

<kaz> TPAC site

<kaz> TPAC WoT wiki

McCool: I can attend 100%

Sebastian: Me too

kt: I can attend 100% as well

de: 100% for me as well

McCool: what should be the main discussion topics

McCool: we should note our topics
… we have joint calls with SDW (Friday), JSON-LD (Thursday)

<kaz> JSON-LD Working Group, Web of Things Working Group Joint Meeting

<kaz> Spatial Data on the Web Working Group, Web of Things Working Group Joint Meeting

McCool: in TFs, please collect issues to discuss with the joint call people

WoT Week

Sebastian: now information on microsoft location for wot week

Sebastian: it is on the same subway line as Siemens location

Sebastian: it would be nice to have demos etc. to show in the coffee breaks or similar

Sebastian: here are some pictures of the venue

McCool: it would be nice to have a poster template and a place to present them

Sebastian: I am also talking with IBM. Maybe we can visit their lab

McCool: I am hoping to get some people over from Intel Muich

Plugfest planning for WoT Week in Nov on wot-testing repo

<kaz> WoT Week wiki

Ege: started to collect proposals for Plugfest during the TD call

Kaz: 2 points: (1) we should start to think about Plugfest details by resuming the Plugfest/Testing call, and (2) Sebastian, please put the logistics updates on the WoT Week wiki above

Profile call

Doodle poll

Kaz: based on the doodle results above, the best slot is Wednesday, right after the main call. We can start with the new Profile slot next Wednesday, July 17.

McCool: that overlaps with the current Plugfest/Testing call...
… would propose Plugfest/Testing and Profile use that slot alternatively
… next week, July 17 for Profile
… and in two weeks, July 24 for Plugfest/Testing
… let's talk about that next time
