Vision at W3C

What is the Vision?

This Vision attempts to help the world understand what W3C is, what it does and why that matters; and in particular to articulate the principles by which it operates and that guide its decisions.

As W3C moves away from being a director-led organization, we are documenting the long-held, but not-always-documented foundational principles of W3C.

Key Points

• W3C must rise to the challenge of an evolving world and work to improve the Web's integrity
• Based on an understanding of the foundations of W3C, such as interoperability and accessiblity, and the Ethical Web Principles, W3C will adopt Operational Principles to carry out the Vision and Mission of W3C.
