Meeting minutes

Minutes

Nov-13

McCool: (goes through the minutes)
… look fine

(approved)

Publications

Kaz: talked with PLH and he also agreed with using www.w3.org/ns/wot
… note that these days, the trend for Namespace management is putting all the resources under w3c.github.io/w3c/ns and redirect to it from www.w3.org/ns
… w3c.github.io/w3c/wot-resources repository can be mapped to w3c.github.io/ns/wot

McCool: that's fine
… but still need to think about the content negotiation

Kaz: why do we need content negotiation for Discovery resources if all the five files just to be mapped to one specific file for each?
… for example, if discovery-ontology.ttl file has an HTML description, whose name is discovery-ontology.html, we need content-negotiation
… but if it's just one file, we don't need content negotiation based on the content-type

McCool: I'm OK with the direction
… since we need to change the mechanism at some point (e.g., for WoT 2.0)
… in that case, would be better to have "discovery/did" instead of "discovery-did"
… can you make a concrete PR for that purpose?
… or myself can do

Kaz: whichever is fine

github.com/w3c/ns - W3C Namespaces repository

wot-resources repository for WoT WG

www.w3.org/ns/wot (which doesn't exist at the moment)

Discovery resources

McCool: we should look into the filenames of the resources again
… we could/should remove redundancy within the filenames too
… for example, "td-discovery-extensions-json-schema" is kind of too long
… so could make it shorter

Kaz: note that the pathname without the suffix should be identical between the published url and the local file

McCool: (changes the published URL and the local file path)
… that would make the things much simpler

Kaz: right

resulted PR 13 on wot-resources - Update URLs

McCool: btw, another question is that we don't have HTML description for Discovery ontologies yet...

Kaz: that's fine at the moment

McCool: but we do need them in the future

wot-resources Issue 15 - Clean up Discovery Resources

McCool: now you're happy. right?

Kaz: yes, and I believe everybody would be also happy later when we need to maintain the resources

McCool: the remaining question is that we need to convince the TD TF as well
… TD 1.1 should use the same mechanism

Kaz: right
