Meeting minutes
Previous actions
MSM has done the easy ones.
NTW has done 10-03c but 10-03a continues.
SP has come up to the point of clicking the button to submit the pull request, but has not yet overcome resistance from github.
status of implementations
NTW reports that his implementation now once again passes all tests.
SP: nothing to report.
Publication plans
NTW still kicking the can down the road.
Revision to agenda
NTW asks to add issue #201 to the agenda.
Pull request #201
NTW: the draft which we made the current working draft next week had SP's change markup.
Pull request #201 eliminates that markup, to avoid confusing readers.
Permission to merge granted. Merged.
Issue #198 Check that browsable test suite is being updated when tests are added
Continues.
Issue #139 Sample grammars for IRIs and URIs
MSM requests more documentation of the design choices.
SP recalls that we agreed to provide the original grammar and also a grammar that shows the structure.
We agreed to provide both, so people could use either, whichever they need.
ACTION: SP to document the grammar to make clearer why you might want it / need it.
(This won't happen before Declarative Amsterdam and SP's Denmark trip, so mid-November.)
Description of EBNF to BNF translation
Waiting on MSM.
Issue #137 Document the XML tag set of ixml grammars
Waiting on MSM and NTW.
Issue #13
This has been merged and the issue should be closed.
NTW closes #13.
Issue #203 Spec should say explicitly that nonterminals are case-sensitive
ACTION: SP to draft proposed addition to 3.3 saying that nonterminals are case-sensitive.
Do we want to add section numbers? Discussion, feelings on both sides.
ACTION: NTW to do some experiments with dynamic CSS.
ACTION: SP to make each heading hyperlink to the section it heads.
Issue #202 Version of Unicode supported should be implementation-defined
Discussion. Do we want to specify a floor version?
SP points out that the spec has a normative reference to Unicode 13, with no 'or later' mentioned anywhere.
NTW: it's going to be hard to support any version of Unicode other than what our libraries support.
MSM: are all of our libraries in fact up to version 13?
SP: we could write a test to detect that.
ACTION: SP to develop tests to detect version of Unicode supported.
ACTION: MSM to find the tests which currently provide different results based on version of Unicode supported, and send SP a pointer to them.
Issue #199 Require whitespace between prolog and first rule?
Awaiting solution of SP's battle with Github.
Issue #192 Normalizing line endings in ixml inputs
ACTION: NTW to develop proposal for #192 with a menu of choices
Next meeting
SP will be available on 31 October and 14 November, so we don't need to cancel those.
Next meeting is 31 October.
