Meeting minutes

Minutes Review

<kaz> Mar-29

McCool: anything to change that relates to main call part?

Quick Updates

Cancellations

McCool: due to Hannover Fair, we have missing members
… so we have cancellations

McCool: should we cancel other meetings?

Kaz: Basically, all the TF leaders should put proposed cancellations on the main wiki before the main call starts, and we should confirm the proposals during the main call.

McCool: let's do that

Possible workshop

McCool: Siemens wants to sponsor a workshop about industry adoption

Ege: switzerland was also discussed

Lagally: covid seems to be gone, should we do more F2F, do people have budget and time?

McCool: let's see what happens in Sevilla
… and then we can discuss next events

Sebastian: we want to do something like in 2019
… and we want to show companies having it in their products

Sebastian: around may but we should check that we do not conflict with fairs
… most likely the event will be in berlin

McCool: we need a proposal to make it a w3c event

<kaz> TPAC meeting questionnaire (Member-only)

Kaz: Having this kind of event would be great, but we're not sure about the logistics or the content at all at the moment, so I'd suggest we move a head and talk about the WG Charter for today.

Kaz: also a reminder that we need to answer tpac questionnaire

Scripting API

Call for review from Daniel

McCool: the group review has started, 2 week deadline

Daniel: I have put wrong link but yes, we have two week period

Binding Templates

Ege: There is a resolution for Binding Templates as well, I will send an email

Charter

Draft WG Charter

McCool: we want to merge PR 113 and have resolution for the charter wide review

<McCool_> proposed: After merging PR 113 at w3c/wot-charter-drafts#113 regarding the history table, begin the AC review process for the resulting proposed 2023 WG charter at https://github.com/w3c/wot-charter-drafts/blob/main/wot-wg-2023-draft.html with the intention of establishing the next charter for the WoT WG.

McCool: any objections?

RESOLUTION: After merging PR 113 at w3c/wot-charter-drafts#113 regarding the history table, begin the AC review process for the resulting proposed 2023 WG charter at https://github.com/w3c/wot-charter-drafts/blob/main/wot-wg-2023-draft.html with the intention of establishing the next charter for the WoT WG.

McCool: no objections, we have resolution

McCool: I will merge that PR

<McCool_> https://github.com/w3c/wot-charter-drafts/tree/wg-2023-ac-review

Kaz: I have created an issue in strategy repository
… we should just change the status

McCool: let's have a look at it

<kaz> Charter issue on the strategy repository

Kaz: I can change the status and start the wide review

McCool: any questions about the process?

<kaz> (none)

<kaz> related issue 114 on wot-charter-drafts repo

McCool: we still have testimonials and societal impact questionnaire, we will discuss in testing

Charter Details Document

<sebastian> I have to go

McCool: so we need to decide on what to do with the PRs and where to move the content

Ege: what happens to this repository later on?

Kaz: this repository is only for creating a charter draft. We should move issues and PRs to main wot repository or the TF repositories

McCool: some work items are about the entire wot
… also we need a planning directory in the main repo

Ege: Let's move issues and merge PRs that are easy to do. Then you have less work later on

McCool: let's not create new PRs

Kaz: We need to review the remaining PRs at some point. At least we need to make sure none of them would impact the WG Charter.

Ege: you can archive as well

Test Dev Meeting

<kaz> Slides info (Member-only)

<kaz> Slides info (For Invited Experts)

McCool: we have 2 events remaining, one for Architecture and another for Discovery
… slides are mostly done, we need reviews

McCool: in discovery, we have too many at risk assertions. We need to get rid of them
… otherwise too many for an event

Ege: let's use arch call for arch event
… also please ask TF about which features they want, not necessarily implementation count
… also, let's clarify where to host the video

Kaz: Yes, that's why I put how to deal with the recorded video for the first meeting for TD so that we can talk about that before jumping into the discussion on the 2nd and 3rd meetings.
… Note that the Testing effort is part of the WG activity, so all the participants are invited guests if they're not official participants.

McCool: let's once go back to the time slot for the Architecture Dev Meeting

McCool: so one issue is the Arch call and other is video sharing

McCool: is it ok to use arch slot?

Lagally: yes I prefer that

McCool: let's talk about the JP meetings

Kaz: those japanese versions should be held after the global meetings
… we should reuse the resources

McCool: please attend the meetings
… videos are still useful
… where can we put them?

<McCool_> proposal: The WoT WG will record videos of the Dev Meetings and publish them publically in an official W3C channel after group and W3C marcomm review.

<McCool_> proposal: The WoT WG will record presentations of the Dev Meetings material and publish them publically in an official W3C channel after group and W3C marcomm review.

Kaz: If the whole WoT WG really would like to go for that direction proposed above, that's possible. However, if so, we should make sure the content of the video, the Dev Meeting itself and the documents for it are well-organized and useful enough as a tutorial.
