Meeting minutes

michaelc: No new work--some of us were M-Enabling last week

roy: Also no updates

michael: Asks Shirley if any concerns for moving forward with draft

shirley: Believe that's Russell's domain

shirley: Not clear on the goal; just getting more confused about the purpose

shirley: vocabulary to work on Internet; Communications vocab?

janina: Making web content more a11y for aac users; not communications boards

matthew: Shares presentation from former TPAC; cup of tea

<Roy> An example of registry document in W3C

shirley: clarifies it's subsetting that's the confusion

michael: explains subset for simpler parsing; though entire can be available

michael: thinking common denominator

shirley: so establishing purpose of subset

shirley: notes BCI has identified top 500; but that's correspondance

michael: driving reason is for support across multiple sets

matthew: notes expirimentation in an authoring tool based on our existing json

matthew: asks whether excluding is a better explanation?

shirley: that could be done

shirley: can easily distinguish grammatical elements

janina: asks if the subset is for performance reasons?

matthew: yes, and maybe not a concern

matthew: shouldn't assume

matthew: we wouldn't say 'can only use half of unicode'

michael: ref images approx 25mb

michael: we need to make it easy to find what people want

michael: e.g. what happens when id is not recognized

matthew: variability will be on the user end

michael: assuming browser would install all

janina: suggests config option to install preferred set

michael: so let's go with entire registry

shirley: notes BCI on line has entire registry

michael: suggests we move to a review draft

michael: next step would be to make sure how registry is kept current
