Report on call with Bliss Symbolics representative
janina: we had a very good call with Russell
janina: Productive conversation with Russell Galvin
… W3C will host a registry, at a URL that is to be determined
… the Bliss Symbolics lookup table, that we have been considering here for many years, will become available to people and machine processes
… this registry could host the lookup ID number as well as the symbol, perhaps in SVG format
… Russell agreed to remain the single point of contact on this between WAI ADAPT and/or W3C and the Bliss Symbolics Board
… Russell will inform his board of these developments, which he is very excited about as it gives Bliss more visibility
… WAI-Adapt will need to write a spec to host this index of BCI codes
… the primary "gloss" for each symbol will begin with English, then we can add the several other languages that Bliss has captured
… Lisa was on the call and we recognized her achievement in shepherding this process to this point
CharlesL: Great to hear that the Bliss people are talking about unicode
… is there a template for this registry?
<Roy> https://
CharlesL: there are schema.org values that can be used
<Roy> https://
<janina> https://
Roy: I do not see any registries current list on line
janina: we basically need to write a registry, as per https://
janina: Sounds like we should add this to the TPAC agenda
… in addition to spoken pronunciation, and epub conversations
TPAC 12-16 September 2022
Lionel_Wolberger: previous topic, this will get us more exposure being first.
Lionel_Wolberger: We want to get pronunciation gets our insights pronunciation of non-verbal languages

Lionel_Wolberger: We may want an new thread around new Registry. maybe TAG?
janina: we just start doing the work we could use some help there may be others.
Lionel_Wolberger: there could be another group like IOT etc. keep our feelers out.

janina: we will need this done after Thursday primarily with the new links / short name etc.

Lionel_Wolberger: but would be good to wait so we can click all the links etc.
… , I will send out a scheduled email.
janina: what about messaging.. blog posts, tweets etc. there is a wiki that Shawn Henry keeps.
… , we need to get all that ready in advance takes time to write / approval with Shawn & Judy. we aren't formally until that is done. we are still thinking we will go to CR in June.
Lionel_Wolberger: we as a TF should create a Blog post ?
janina: I believe something is in the work already.
<janina> https://
janina: , recommended, tweet, blog post etc.
… , these become the formal announcements, then the W3C will send out to the AC members, look for IP disclosures etc. 60 day kicks off at that time.
… , once we approve the WD then we log a resolution (could be next monday) to advance to CR and CFC takes about a week with APA, 23rd of June (Thursday) cold publish that Thursday or the following Tuesday.
Lionel_Wolberger: we need a blog post to announce the CR.
… , due by?… as soon as possible.
janina: if we can all proofread over this weekend so that we can start the process since it will take 1 week for APA then Shawn needs 1 week, etc.
Lionel_Wolberger: we should draft this post by end of next week, we could have by the end of June CR, blog post, tweet etc.
janina: Judy will want us to send out an announcement to other groups etc.
… , it will be announced at the top at W3C.org
Lionel_Wolberger: I am comfortable with this schedule.

Content Module Implementations Status
Lionel_Wolberger: last month, we got potential implementations once we go to CR.

… , now that we are going to CR I will get some responces Cynthia Shelly but she hasn't been responsive.
… , I think there may be a Chrome / Safari implementations.
Lionel_Wolberger: content and rendering implementations.
… , VMWare in content side, Amazon might be interested, IBM might be interested, Chrome and perhaps Safari. Sales Force was very interested, Oracle. Adobe Indesign, and DAISY
janina: Charles with Benetech any form would be nice. could be on Github so we can fork them etc.
Charles: I will make a note and see what might be possible and get back to you.
