Quick updates

McCool: Singapore logistics

<kaz> Singapore f2f wiki

McCool: 13-17 November
... aligned with IETF
... Intel agreed to fund
... clarification: 3 days
... our PlugFest at IETF Hackathon
... besides our "usual" things we propose IETF related topics (orchesration, CoAP protocol bindings, ...)
... location: university of Singapore
... hour by bus from down-town
... please raise any objections soon.. need to confirm soon
... need accurate count 1 week before (Kaz will setup registration site)
... November 13-14 our F2F
... November 15 joint meeting
... please add proposed items under "Input" section (e.g., for Agenda)
... Who plans to organize PlugFest?
... if no-one else is available I can do that...
... IG Charter review
... need 20 AC rep votes
... so far we have 9, need 11 more
... No privacy meeting yet
... Marketing task for had meeting this week
... patch current content
... marcom conflict
... need new time slot
... next week marketing call still on Monday.. will decide there when and if to change

Taki: doodle poll for marketing time slot?

McCool: will send email whether charter call works. If so we are done. If not we need to find another solution

Taki: 4am in California.. not very convenient

McCool: OK, let's do a doodle

Kaz: Thursday, or also Monday?

McCool: both

Kaz: will include Friday also

Web Things CG Charter (Ben)

Ben: core mission
... websocket sub protocol of TD
... idea is to complement TD specification
... secondary delivery: HTTP protocol binding
... depends on WG

McCool: we have group working on bindings

Ben: protocol on top of a protocol
... simply reference external document

McCool: normative specification referencing the document
... normative definition to "how to use e.g., HTTP for devices"

Ben: wording might need to be more clear

McCool: "subprotocol" might be a good term.. vs. protocol

Ben: subprotocol seems to be a good term
... proposed CG, met minimum votes
... hence, group has started...
... no activity yet

McCool: mentioning "specification" at the deliverlables section would be confusing. can CGs produce specificaitons? maybe "draft speicifications"?

Kaz: CGs produce "CG Reports"

Ben: CG can create specifications... even though not normative

Kaz: technically that is correct
... but "draft specifications" sounds like a good term as McCool mentioned if Ben is OK with that

McCool: we can add pointers to our charter?

Ben: websocket is more natural to IETF
... HTTP is more related W3C....
... not sure where the work will end up

McCool: timing?

Ben: charte does not have end date
... asynchronous collaboration
... no weekly calls or so
... depends on the interest we get

McCool: can you come to Singapore?

Ben: need to check

McCool: Next F2F in Europe (after Singapore)?
... draft for this next next F2F would be good
... github issues?

Ben: Personal repo or w3c repo?

Kaz: I think I can help with w3c repo

McCool: need to clarify relationship
... "Web of Things" is overloaded term

<McCool_> https://www.w3.org/WoT/IG/wiki/Main_WoT_WebConf

<McCool_> https://github.com/benfrancis/web-thing-protocol-charter/issues

Ben: will send use-cases and such to mailing list
... please register

<benfrancis> For reference, here is a link to the active community group page https://www.w3.org/community/web-thing-protocol/

<benfrancis> with links to the mailing list etc.

TF reports

* Marketing

McCool/Dave: blog post
... will send out draft first
... need backup material

McCool: plan to include figures in blog

Dave: should be short and we link to additional material

<kaz> Marketing TF wiki

<kaz> Marketing TF repo

Kaz: sent out the minutes from the marketing call
... also created wiki and GitHub repo
... fyi, I've generated brief summary from the TPAC f2f in Japanese for JP Members, and can translate it into English as possible resource for the blog post

<Zakim> dape, you wanted to mention your web site draft

https://danielpeintner.github.io/wot-pages/

Daniel: sketch of website above
... clean-up of pages

McCool: need agreement of Marcom
... private repo?

Daniel: yes

Kaz: if we want to move it to the wot-marketing repo, I can work on that (if Daniel can give permission to me)

Dave: auto-generated pages will supplement this page
... need to check how all (others W3C) pages fit together

Daniel: layout is not set in stone.. it is purely about consistent layout/structure across all our pages

Kaz: we already have the marketing task force wiki and GitHub repo. Also we've started the Marketing TF call, so let's discuss the detail during the call.

McCool: interested people, please join the Marketing TF call

* Scripting API

Daniel: Scripting API going to be published soon
... node-wot will be snychronized also

McCool: resolution at TPAC?

Kaz: we made a resolution before TPAC
... Zoltan is working on document check, and it's almost done
... I'll double check the document and publish it soon.

<zkis_> Note on Scripting. have made a PR for the Scripting API publication (WD4), https://github.com/w3c/wot-scripting-api/pull/196
