Propose making acknowledgements a set of includes for sub-sections, rather than one big one
so each spec can have its own
but we can all share the parts that are relevant, and add other parts
<joanie> explicit +1 from me
<no real objections>
all specs need the funding one
many would use the WG one
many would use their own as well, for TF, heavy contributors, etc.
Joanie cleaned up biblio.js
to remove stuff redundant with Specref
and alias references we´ve been using, to ones known to Specref
which makes them reference a particular version, usually the latest
JD recommends using versioned references in general
we should clean up the references to implement that in each spec
TS notes some specs have unversioned references and it´s useful to keep up to date
but that can result in links going out of date
on flip side, it´s easy to forget to update versioned references, would need a practice of checking for updates periodically
you can check if your references come from Specref by commenting out the localbiblio line in the respec config
which will let you know if errors happen
ultimately may not need localbiblio at all except for publishing
or temp references that you plan to request get added to specref
can send pull request to specref, or ask Joanie to
https://github.com/tobie/specref
https://github.com/w3c/aria/branches
see if there are any branches you wanted to keep, migrate another repo
otherwise they´ll disappear when Joanie and I clean up
master is the only branch currently migrated to other repos
Editors are people who literally make the spec work
authors contribute substantial content
platform maintainers are authors for AAMs
after we split the acknowledements file, could have custom sub-sections to credit whomever you want
including heavy contributors, commenters, etc.
For non-AAMs, we should increase use of the authors credit as well
(MC will need to tweak the script to not change ¨authors¨ to ¨platform maintainers¨ in non-AAMs, but easy enough to do)
may not need to use the WG participants include, if using TF participants instead or something
master, gh-pages, and stable branches are protected in most repos
only editors can push to protected branches, other contributors can work in other branches and request merge
also options to require status checks pass, pull request reviews
but not using right now, can if you want to
