who is on the call?
kiyoshi: May I start this meeting?
kiyoshi: (briefly talking about
agenda)
... any other topics?
... As I sent a message to BG mailinglinst in March, we had
some problem wrt WG charter.
... I updated the document on github
<Kiyoshi> https://github.com/w3c/web-based-signage-bg
<Kiyoshi> https://github.com/w3c/web-based-signage-bg/pull/4/commits/296f5a7ab75f7eb27d64cbc2ff4a5a439134ede0
kiyoshi: This is the proposed
working group charter (last updated)
... however, this is just one for discussing in BG.
... I want to ask you its okay to modify the document with at
F2F meeting or teleconference,
... but we couldn't arrange teleconference until today. Today
is the first time after the update to the document.
... After the modification, I contacted with W3C staff. I want
to talk about update.
... the above update was not enough to establish a WG.
... please open the latest updated charter. I'm going to
provide clarificaiton on updates.
... I added a scope of signage player, and explnation and
clarificaiton, and deliverables.
... This is the coordination point. We're pointed out with a
collaboration with web-driver. I want to colaborate this issue
with browser testing group.
... I added coordination point too.
... and other minor modifications.
... and this URL has some modification pint indicated in red
and green.
... At this moment, we have problem to get auhtorazation to
create WG.
kiyoshi: Proposed APIs are very focusing on device issues.
... also this issue is very small, I heard from W3C
staff.
... they recommnded to if need to standardize these item, it
should be go to existing WG, which should be faster.
... I want to discuss about such proposal, and we want to
decide to do how to do these items.
... this is important part of the meeting.
... any questions or comments? If you have some opinion.
... (no comments, questions)
... If you have some objection, please do so.
... Okay, I want to proceed with this option.
... W3C already has Device and Sensors working group.
... it looks like our document may fit with this WG.
... if there is no objection, I want to contact chairs.
<futomi> +1
kiyoshi: I think that, as I
talked with W3C staff wrt proposed WG charter, they pointed out
usecase document does not provide up-to-date enough
information
... Thus, we need to update the document. We must publish new
one.
... I want to discuss usecase more, to describe some other
issues and arranging the document.
... If there are no objection, I want to update this
document.
shigeya: Did you said you will update the document?
kiyoshi: Yes, but I need help. I need volunteers.
futomi: I think we should create
new one, because old one is too speciifc to APIs. now need API
specific usecases.
... For example, power management API.
kiyoshi: Hatanosan-said API-specific document. As a style of document, how to treat old document?
futomi: I have no idea.
kiyoshi: obsolete old one?
futomi: Since they're different, we'd better keep old one.
kiyoshi: (discussing how to
update)
... consulting updating document first. Then ask group how to
proceed to next step.
kiyoshi: W3C announced TPAC 2017 schedule.
<Kiyoshi> https://www.w3.org/2017/11/TPAC/
<Kiyoshi> https://www.w3.org/2017/11/TPAC/schedule.html
kiyoshi: On the scedule, no
Device and Sensors WG meeting.
... also, we haven't ask Web-baed signage BG meeting.
... I want to know which slot is better.
... Also, on the same week of TPAC, in San Francisco, they
expect many events, and its difficult to reserve hotel
room.
... Do you have preference on meeting schedule?
shigeya: While discussing on this
call, one of W3C staff mentioned about possible collaboration
with Media and Entertaiment group.
... Also, since it's in US, we can canel hotel without charge
(note: if you have not picked prepaid plan), so go ahead and
quickly grab room anyway.
kiyoshi: I just want to know
collaboration issue. They have meeting on Monday.
... so if we like to collaborate, we can schedule our meeting
on Tuesday as one of the candidates.
... The other point is, whether we need two days or one day.
Last year, we reserved two days, but we had 1.5 days
disussion
... This year, we focus on collaborating issue, our meeting is
enough in one day.
(discussing best or better way to pick slot at TPAC)
kiyoshi: let me decide on schedule
<shigeya> +1
<futomi> +1
kiyoshi: I will decide and let
you know ASAP.
... AOB?
... I want to close meeting.
<futomi> Thank you, Kiyoshi-san.
kiyoshi: Meeting adjourned.
