title: DPUB-ARIA Weekly meeting
https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/dpub-cr/aria/dpub.html
Tzviya: Ivan added sentence to indicate that those using terms in epub:type have clear plan to shift to DPUB-ARIA role
Rich: I disagree with these exit criteria bc there are mappings
Michael: I don't think that we need to test role mappings. We will test the the API mappings separately
Ivan: We are not disagreeing that
the role mappings need to be testing as ARIA Core is
... We are testing 2 recommendations, and they should have 2
seperate exit criteria
Michael: The reason this is
different from ARIA is that the DPUB roles can be implemented
without mappings and still be useful
... We are still testing the API Mappings. It is actually
cleaner than what we've done in ARIA
Ivan: I have the experience of testing 3 specs for a WG, and each has slightly different exit criteria. This is very clean
Rich: Please clarify wording in proposed exit criteria "the role attribute value is used, as defined in this specification; or, as a fallback"
<ShaneM> rich do you mean the aria attributes or do you mean the role values ?
Ivan: fallback means inclusion of both of both, as a precaution
Rich: I would prefer to see exit criteria require 2 publishers (or other) use the role mechanism, but not be comprehensive
Ivan: I will work on wording today
Rich: How does this affect the world of epub:type? How is this valuable as exit criteria?
Tzviya: one of the goals of this vocab is to replace epub:Type
Ivan: and, we can prove that the
terms have value to publishers
... We need to create exit criteria for mapping document
Michael: We can copy/paste from ARIA AAM for DPUB-AAM exit criteria
Ivan: For MS mappings, what are you waiting for?
Rich: mappings, which may influence implementations
<ShaneM> doesn't NVDA rely upon the browser too?
<ShaneM> I just meant is isnt only JAWS
https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/dpub-cr/aria/dpub.html#doc-pullquote
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-dpub-aria/2016Oct/0029.html
Tzviya: Matt noticed an error last week in doc-pullquote, made minor change to definition
subclasses "none"
Tzviya: Alexander recommended NOT doing aria-hidden='true', instead doing 'no semantics, not exposed'
Rich: The only API that maps is
Apple, which maps to "group"
... so the only change would be to Apple
<ShaneM> you are way off mike ivan
Tzviya: Rich emailed API Mappers to resolve issue.
Ivan: I edited the exit criteria while discussing
consensus on exit criteria
<ShaneM> That's awesome - thanks Mickael!
Tzviya: I'll work with Shane on testing DPUB-ARIA
Shane: We are testing DPUB-ARIA
and DPUB-AAM - 2 sets of tests
... Do we want tests in WPT or just in a repo?
Ivan: I think a repo is fine
Shane: What's the target date for CR Complete?
Michael: ARIA CR Complete is 13 Jan, so we should aim to DPUB at the same time
<ShaneM> That's fine
