<rreck> macted eh?

<MacTed> rreck - yep, I'm in a few WG/XGs

<rreck> new to this one i think

<rreck> harry, i have sent you mucho important emails

<MacTed> rreck - no, not new ... been here for months :-)

<bblfish> hi

<rreck> i am in the wrong channel?

<rreck> harry the emails are for you so dont sweat it

<hhalpin> Did we lose DKA?

yeah i think we did

he said hello

<hhalpin> Sigh;

and doesn't seem to be online now

<hhalpin> Strange.

<hhalpin> Well give him 5 minutes and we cancel meeting.

<hhalpin> I will incorporate all proposed edits into the final report before next meeting

<bblfish> hi

<rreck> macted, i guess i just know who you are in rl now

Zakim: who is on the call

<rreck> if there is no meeting maybe i should volunteer to scribe :-)

so DKA was at the submitt

there were 35 participants

the focus was on projects which had code being produced

DKA's project onesocialweb was consider one of the projects which are producing code in the space of distributed social networks

<melvster> salmon

talks included updates from the various projects, slides should be on the federatted social web submit website

including ostatus, pubhubsub, webfinger

diaspora, and appleseed, gnusocial

buddycloud

quite a large set of people from the mozilla project

swat test

?

social web acid test ?

People are working towards a set of tests to allow for communications between different social web projects

the plan is to make the projects pass these SWAT tests, by sept 30th 2010, to show interoperability between the various players in that space

the workshop had three goals

1: Bring people together in this space

3: To promote standards to allow for interoperability between the various social web components

<bblfish> what is the URL for that summit

<bblfish> ?

sorry

bblfish: http://federatedsocialweb.net/wiki/Main_Page

SWAT test http://federatedsocialweb.net/wiki/SWAT0

SWAT0 Compliance Test by Sept 30 or bust. Join us to take the challenge!

nice one MacTed

any questions for people in IRC

http://ostatus.org/

<DKA> http://ostatus.org

welcome DKA

http://ostatus.org/sites/default/files/ostatus-1.0-draft-1-specification.html

<MacTed> any chance of a headphone instead of speaker, mischat?

ok MacTed

<MacTed> sorry, and thanks

np

there was a new draft around the webfinger

called privacy over webfinger which came out before the submit

http://ostatus.org/sites/default/files/ostatus-1.0-draft-1-specification.html

<MacTed> I'd think this is less "security between requester and answerer" and more "privacy of info, i.e., who can check my status"

nice one DKA

i recall last week, mention of the Higgin's people not being invited to the summit

DKA: ^^

hehe

DKA: said he talked about what was going on in our XG, and told people about the work we are doing

<DKA> http://groups.google.com/group/federated-social-web

http://groups.google.com/group/federated-social-web

ah

<DKA> http://federatedsocialweb.net/wiki/SWAT0

DKA the google group for the submit, is now open, and people should be focusing on the development of the SWAT0 test

people should join the group

<melvster> http://groups.google.com/group/federated-social-web/browse_thread/thread/1d8e3a6e33f62605

google was there, facebook was there

<melvster> ' Privacy-over-Webfinger Draft '

there was a cross section of big and small organisations working in the social space

interoperability is the key thing to come out of the workshop

the SWAT test is not tied down to standards, for example the onesocialweb people are looking at adapting the test to operate over the xmpp

any other questions for DKA from irc ?

MacTed: brings up the point that he feels that the social web summit was a bit exclusive

and the most RDF friendly (he says with his semantic web hat on)

ohhh: Mobile hack weekend in london http://overtheair2010.eventbrite.com/

bblfish: can you give that update ?

<bblfish> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/FinalReport

<cperey> I think that the technologies section is the weakest

YAY to git

+1

<cperey> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/FinalReport#Social_Web_Technologies_and_Standards

<rreck> +1

<melvster> impressed so far

<rreck> i like what i see so far

it requires work, but sofar so good

<cperey> flow is pretty good, if you mean that the topics which need to be discussed are there

<rreck> yeah impressed is the word i should have used

<cperey> but there's still a lot left to write

<cperey> +1 to what DKA is saying (guest speakers overview is missing)

DKA: thinks that there is gap insofar as there is no guest speaker overview

+1

<cperey> it's not consistent either

<rreck> he is gone i think

cperey, consistent how ? language?

DKA: harry isn't in the room

on irc

<cperey> inconsistent depth/detail coverage

<MacTed> (that was re 11:27:58)

<cperey> current status should be reflected in the report

<DKA> we need list of talks

http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/InvitedGuestSummaries

which include salmon, pubhubsub, webfinger

activitystreams

<cperey> Identity standards

<melvster> and FOAF! :)

<cperey> profile standards

<rreck> we had more than 7 speakers?

<melvster> is in the OStatus spec

<cperey> content standards

yup we definitely did rreck

<cperey> privacy standards

<cperey> activity standards

but i fear that i wont cover them all

cool

these are the original "discussion topics" we set out when we started the XG

http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/DiscussionTopics

i wonder if they should be revisited

<melvster> one question: it's only a month left, right ... should we start circulating the draft to a wider audience ...

DKA: ^^?

<DKA> claudio can you contribute to report?

http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/RequirementsAndUseCases-WorkArea

<DKA> ACTION: Appelquist to integrate the use cases into an appendix. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2010/08/04-swxg-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-152 - Integrate the use cases into an appendix. [on Daniel Appelquist - due 2010-08-11].

DKA: thinks that we should point to the use cases, specially in the text when we are talking about real world examples of activities we should try and related them to topics we highlighted in the use case documents

<DKA> claudio, we need some text in the report covering mobile-specific issues, or mobility in general and how it impacts the social web...

DKA: thinks we need text in the report about mobile issues, and how it impacts the social web

<DKA> Can you write something like that?
