How the W3C Stack Measures Up
- Model: Core XML data for richly textured transaction, schema for
transaction data, dynamic validity rules and calculations
- View: Exposes data to external processes for consumption or manipulation.
Presentation is the human view; other views can be targeted to CM, DB,
Workflows using namespaces.
- Controller: XML serializations of processes that can interact with data
or whole document, e.g. insert/delete/set value, sign, submit
- XML events: the capture/bubble phase allows federated participation in processing,
and event context provides the interaction interface.
- The exciting part is looking into the W3C stack of core technologies
and finding it has a lot of the jam needed to help pull off this vision:
XML, Namespaces, Schema, XPath, XForms, XML Signatures, XML Events...
