- Key Enablers:
eGovernment must integrate into Web
architecture to participate in the ubiquitously available Web
e.g. push for XML Signature + XHTML for end-to-end security
in the browser
- Inclusive, effective:
eGovernment must be multimodal, ready for the mobile web, international,
and accessible to people with disabilities. In one phrase:
Accessible to all
eGovernment experts should get involved to drive the
specifications they need inside W3C.
- Standard Framework:
eGovernment should help define Open IST
Standards, and look at the W3C Patent Policy,
which already accommodates collaboration on Web technologies
W3C can lend its hand with knowledge about: Community building,
XML, Semantic Web and Web applications.
- High impact:
eGovernment should consider W3C technologies as a
toolbox including solutions for privacy, accessibility,
quality, security and semantic treatment of data.
The Web is the most effective technology platform available today
forenabling eGovernment to achieve the above goals.
