The SKOS Mapping Vocabulary is an application of the Resource Description Framework (RDF), that can be used to express mappings between concept schemes as an RDF graph.
N.B. The SKOS Mapping Vocabulary is unstable, and is likely to undergo extensive redevelopment. The following specifications are available, but note that these documents have no official status within the W3C process:
This document is a reference guide to the SKOS Mapping RDF Vocabulary. SKOS Mapping supports mappings between concepts from different schemes.
A formal specification of the SKOS Mapping Vocabulary in RDF/OWL is also available.
Development of SKOS Mapping was initiated by the Semantic Web Advanced Development for Europe Project (SWAD-Europe). See the reports page for the SWAD-Europe Thesaurus Activity for initial publications describing SKOS Mapping, but note that these reports may not reflect current usage as there has been extensive development especially of SKOS Core since their publication. Currently SKOS Mapping has no official home and is maintained informally by Alistair Miles and Dan Brickley. Development is pretty much on hold while we sort out SKOS Core.
All SKOS development work is mediated via the Semantic Web Interest Group mailing list public-esw-thes@w3.org. This mailing list is completely open and active participation is very welcome [subscribe]. There is also an online public archive of the mailing list and a SKOS development wiki.
All changes to any of the SKOS RDF vocabularies are reported on the SKOS Changelog.
