how to handle channel and brushProperty
- State:
- CLOSED
- Product:
- InkML
- Raised by:

- Opened on:

- Description:
- Muthu's updated XSD now has <brushProperty name="" value="" [units=""]/>'s as children of <brush>. There is an enumeration of standard brush properties plus an open string. Tom defined a proposed enum of standard brush property names taken from the comments plus some additional properties which are part of Microsoft's Ink implementation such as raster operation.
During March 26 call, we discussed merging channels names and brush property names. It would mean expanding the current set of channel names (H, CA, Tip, etc.). We also explored the possibility of simply having <channel> as children of <brush>. - Related Actions Items:

Kazuyuki Ashimura, 23 Apr 2009, 15:53:12This issue has been resolved in the current working draft. The spec now defines the <brushProperty> element and an enumertation of properties. Two of these propeties, "width" and "height", may also be specified using the channel types "BW" and "BH". The spec now specifies that the "width" and "height" brush properties take precedence over the "BW" and "BH" channels if they are present.
