EME Editorial issues

ISSUE-211 and ISSUE-293 are still outstanding.

293 is block on respec fixes. The text is fine.

Mark is working on 211 this week.

David will change 211 to not be editorial since it does not impact the current doc.

EME nonblocking issues

ISSUE-242 and ISSUE-237 are still outstanding.

David has done a PR for 237. Mark will review -237 PR more.

David will then tackle a PR for -242.

It looks like the above editorial and nonblocking issues will be done this week.

EME at risk features

<plh> David: one feature got removed

>Support for insecure contexts, including the Are insecure contexts allowed? has already been removed

The other two at risk features are awaiting testing results.

EME test suite

See Jerry's updates on tesing:

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2016Aug/0106.html

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2016Aug/0107.html

<plh> Paul: questions were asked but not many answers

<plh> Jerry: we have timeouts

<plh> ... and they're not counted as failures

<plh> ... and we have a large number of those

<plh> ... don't know why yet

<plh> Mark: wasn't aware we had those timeouts... will need to look into this

<plh> ... if the playback doesn't start, you get a timeout

<plh> <meta name="timeout" content="long">

<plh> https://github.com/w3c/testharness.js/blob/master/docs/api.md#harness-timeout

<plh> Paul: what about the naming?

<plh> Mark: will fix it

MArk will replace the key system name in the test name with either 'drm' or 'clearKey'. See https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2016Aug/0108.html

Mark will do the above two changes, Jerry will review any PRs and then re-run the tests.

<plh> plh: better to let testharness.js to time out and report those as failures in wptreport

<plh> Jerry: some tests migration need to be done

outstanding PR for EME test suite: https://github.com/w3c/web-platform-tests/pulls?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Apr%20is%3Aopen%20label%3Aencrypted-media

ISSUE https://github.com/w3c/web-platform-tests/issues/3583 outlines Google tests to be migrated. Netflix is working on some of these.

Netflix is working on the 7 tests identified in https://github.com/w3c/web-platform-tests/issues/3583#issuecomment-243203368

There are 14 others to be migrated.

David cannot do this work item this week.

Jerry will look into doing some of the remaining Google test migrations.

<plh> Mark: which implementation can we use to test?

<plh> ... for persistent license

<plh> ... ChromeOS?

<plh> Jerry: I think Edge doesn't support the session type

<plh> Paul: Firefox?

<plh> Mark: didn't seem to work when I tried it

<plh> Paul: if you ask on the list, you might get an answer

<plh> Mark: we ran some of the tests on a castTV device, using polyfill

<plh> Paul: as long as we make it clear in the implementation report...

<plh> David: cast implementation is a private one, not intended to be used.

<plh> ... was created for Netflix
