<tzviya> ACTION: dkaplan3 to edit http://w3c.github.io/dpub-pwp-ucr/#accessible-metadata [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2016/08/19-DPUB-minutes.html#action01]
Charles cleaned up section 8.2 Adding Alternative Media removed "as you can imagine"
Tzviya: is the Braille Use cases not for this document but maybe for a general concern of the web. This is important for publication, but not maybe for this publication.
Charles: because publishers won't include it in books
Tzviya: no its more about a
publication or portability. what is the difference between
braille here or on the web? All these usecase examples could
apply for a website.
... this is not the place to call this out in this
document.
Deborah: unless there a difference for the use of braille in a package.
Tzviya: I don't know if braille is even created for websites, so that might be needed to be spelled out here.
Deborah: I wouldn't be field specific use cases where braille needs are unique.
Tzviya: send a note to Jason and see if he can think of why this should be included in this document.
<scribe> ACTION: dkaplan3 to edit the section on 8.4 Building a Custom PWP [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2016/08/19-DPUB-minutes.html#action02]
Deborah: I still need to send a
pull request for the gender of the use case in 8.5 Package
needs to support time-based media and text
... , From our meeting on Monday and the Horizontal
requirements was there anything else on our plate?
Tzviya: I think Ivan thought you may respond to his changes.
<scribe> ACTION: clapierre to reach out to Jason White on the Braille Usecases [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2016/08/19-DPUB-minutes.html#action03]
Deborah: Do you Tzviya have anything that the a11y TF should focus on next. There are 2 task forces for a11y in DPUB and ARIA. Follow this issue in Github
Tzviya: keep an eye on
that.
... the call we had was very good: browsers didn't want to have
to deal with adjusting the UI, other was default was
description is hidden. We ask that the default be hidden but we
are also asking ANY user can access it.
Deborah: our request for years has been that you shouldn't need a screen reader to access it.
Tzviya: default is hidden but access to user to access it no matter if they use AT or not.
