<scribe> scribenick: LJWatson
JS: The F2F?
<MarkS> regrets MarkS
<bkardell_> zakim who is on the call?
JS: CFC in the WG closes today. Hope we can get a timely decision on that.
PC: How will publication happen?
JS: Michael Cooper is working on it. He'll liaise with Robin.
CMN: I have an action to update
the work statement. Anticipate doing this in the next couple of
days.
... Had CFC on harmonising CFCs between the TF and its parent
WGs.
JS: There has been communication with Domonic Mazzoni. Believe Google has hit regions in Chrome, but needs testing.
PC: The bugs Rich identified were
on the previous features Google had implemented in Chrome, not
hit region.
... The old stuff was tested, and there had apparently been no
changes from the old implementation.
<chaals> sck me
CMN: Had requested keeping the TF list updated.
JS: Can do that.
<chaals> s/sck me//ack me/
SM: Agreed last week to publish a note that said "we're not doing this".
LQ: Wrote up text for the note, it's with Janina.
<janina> http://www.w3.org/2015/03/alt-draft.html
JS: Haven't had time to review.
LQ: Contacted Robin to ask about referencing the HTML5 spec in a way that will survive modularisation. No answer at present.
PC: There are references to picture element, editor names, copyright date etc. are not correct.
LQ: This isn't the right document. Perhaps something ailed. Will look into it.
s/perhaps something ailed/perhaps something failed/
<chaals> zakin, close this item
CMN: Can you sort this out this week?
LQ: Can do it today.
<liam> [Iwill fix the doc today]
PC: Will the TF do the CFC?
CMN: The TF will do it.
JF: Was a bug filed about @kind and encrypted content.
<JF> https://github.com/w3c/encrypted-media/commit/22f3514edfd78f31f78947c5a5cab3c2922e50e6
JF: Discussions were held, some changes have been made to the spec that should address these concerns. Would be good for someone to take a technical look to verify our concerns have been resolved.
LW: I'll take a look.
<chaals> ACTION: Léonie to review bug 27054 and check it's OK [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/03/26-html-a11y-minutes.html#action01]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-312 - Review bug 27054 and check it's ok [on Léonie Watson - due 2015-04-02].
JF: David MacDonald has a proposal for a footnote element.
<bkardell_> is there a link to this proposal? I just joined late yesterday, so it would be helpful
JF: This is one of a number of items where we have things to do, but don't have dates or timetables for moving things forward.
<Zakim> janina, you wanted to ask whether Dpub-IG is still discussing this
CMN: These are our work items.
JS: Is any monitoring dPub?
SM: They're not discussing notes at the moment.
<Zakim> ShaneM, you wanted to talk about dpub work on note / noteref
JF: I believe David has been monitoring dPub. My impression is we're ready to present this, just need to know who, where and when.
SM: Have dropped the dPub chair a note to ask for time. They don't have spare time right now though. Would like their sign-off.
CMN: As well as dPub review, it would be good for us to collectively review it as well.
JF: Do we need to bring it into W3C format/style more?
CMN: Let's focus on the content first.
<liam> [Liam also following dpub footnote stuff fairly closely]
CMN: The offer of meeting space
in Zaragoza is still open for the w/c 13th April if the TF
wants to meet.
... W/c 13th April is possible, but was thinking of
mid-June.
RS: Looking into the timing on that.
CMN: Zaraagoza is in Spain.
CS: Could not make Europe mid-June, but possibly later.
<ShaneM> I could not do june.
CS: Could do Seattle, since there anyway.
Can do Seattle in April or Zaragoza in June.
<ShaneM> I would prefer canada. then I could even make something in june because I wouldn't miss critical weekend activities
CMN: Anyone thinks a F2F is either a good or bad idea?
CS: Could people make Seattle?
CMN: Possibly.
PC: Have two rooms blocked for
the w/c 13th April. Have to release what I don't need next week
before the TF call. If you want to make use of the facilities,
need to know today if possible.
... Media TF meets on the Wed and Thu that week.
JF: Yes, there is value in the TF getting together. April is easier for me. North America in June might also be possible, but my time gets constrained after that.
CMN: Should know tomorrow whether
I'll be able to travel and if Seattle is a possibility.
... Can you hold the room until tomorrow?
PC: Yes.
<bkardell_> I dont know if anyone here is planning on attending the Extensible Web Summit in April, but there are opportunities/space to meetup unofficially there
PC: If the TF could provide an indicaion of how many people, I'll take this offline. Need dates confirmation too.
CMN: Overlap with the Media TF - Wed and Thu.
<ShaneM> so 15-16 April?
RS: What topics would we cover if in April?
<janina> I think 8-9 April
CMN: Transcript is an obvious
one, since the Media TF will be there.
... For me, hot buttons include Panels, keyboards...
CS: API testing too.
RS: About the common API we've been discussing. With Windows 10 coming out, is June a better time to get with them?
CS: Can't leave Seattle in June.
<bkardell_> bkardell_ was hoping chaals would just mention it :)
CS: No, family commitments would make that difficult.
<bkardell_> http://lanyrd.com/2015/extwebsummit/
JS: Cynthia's WAPA proposal was discussed on the PF call yesterday. Worth the TF considering?
CS: +1
RS: We'd need a couple of days for that.
<liam> [ http://www.w3.org/2015/03/alt-draft.html updated, sorry for checking in the wrong document ]
CS: Think a few hours.
<janina> https://rawgit.com/cyns/wapa/master/wapa.html
CS: What's in the WAPA doc is in the tech preview of IE.
CMN: Sounds like there is scope for a useful discussion in Seattle for those who can make it.
RS: Will look at possibility of being in Seattle.
<ShaneM> what time would we start on Wednesday morning?
CMN: Ok, possibility of unofficial meeting in Seattle. Think an official meeting at CSUN next year would also make sense.
SM: Could make it to Seattle, flying in on the Wed morning.
<Zakim> chaals, you wanted to mention extensible web
CMN: The extensible web meeting in SF is another consideration.
<Zakim> janina, you wanted to ask whether Cynthia's WAPA might subsume IndieUI Events? and to note that PF has scheduled a conversation with Gregg Vanderheiden on April 8
<paulc> http://www.w3.org/2015/11/TPAC/
PC: As co-chair, was asked to fill out charing information for the HTML WG attending TPAC 2015 - 26th to 30th Oct in Japan. Has the TF considered meeting at TPAC?
CMN: We should explicitly ask about the TF meeting at TPAC.
<paulc> it would help me know if the HTML WG needs two rooms at TPAC 2015
PC: Meeting room logistics are why I'm asking so far in advance.
JS: My expectation is that we'll have agenda for this TF, and for PF also at TPAC.
CMN: We need to co-ordinate about meeting in Seattle, meeting at TPAC, and a European meeting in June.
CS: August would work for me.

CS: Still an issue. Lines up with events work. Punt it to end of April? Be good to discuss in Seattle.
<bkardell_> footnotes link?
CMN: Please look at footnotes before next week.
