<MichaelC> Geometry Interfaces Module Level 1

This specification provides basic geometric interfaces to represent points, rectangles, quadrilaterals and transformation matrices that can be used by other modules or specifications. CSS is a language for describing the rendering of structured documents (such as HTML and XML) on screen, on paper, in speech, etc.

JS: we probably don't need to look now

RS: agree

preview agenda with items from two minutes

RS: What are your thoughts on epub

ARIA.Next Items

rs: we had a meeting with the digital publication iterest group key people where essentially the digfital pub group want to make use of the role attribute so that semantics which are used in digital publication aren't just for book readers but also for AT
... needed to look at the role attribute definition so we could always fall back on the host language n ative semantics which is fine
... we could progressively define mappings to platform a11y APIs
... if the specific role were not available in the APIs they would prefer the info to be available to them
... 2nd thing want to take epub strucural semantics and move it into an aria module
... are going to go back and see who will be facilitator etc and will work these issues out.
... also talked breifly on graphicvs
... digital books are making use of many w3c open standards. they want to take the info and make it accessible
... we are waiting to hear in 2 weeks. was an encouraging update
... we don't want the ARIA group to be a bottleneck

js: wanted to note that they already have a lot of these semantics

<richardschwerdtfeger> http://www.idpf.org/epub/vocab/structure/

js: we will need to eventually answer whether aria is only for AT or whether we will eventually get to the point where mainstream user agents use it

rs: am writing a paper for a telecom conference. we are starting to turn a corner and mobile is one
... movbile devices are integrating AT and voice for mainstream uses
... the overlap of the need for sermantics. will need to see a lot of theings which we thought were specifric to a11y have mainstream uses
... also congitive and mainstream uses of a11y
... if you look at 401k plans in the us. will be cashflow negative by xxxx. will be moving money to IRAs. By 2016 300 billion $ into IRAs. IRAs are 5.3 trillion $. This group of aging people will be spenders rather than savers.
... a huge business opportunity

JS: WAI 2020 is being scoped narrowly

rs: trying to get over getting WCAG stuff into compliance criteria. Need to not just think about WCAG but more need to think about everything else WAI is doing.

user interface security directives Response

<MichaelC> Acknowledgement of PFWG comments on User Interface Security Directives for Content Security Policy

MC: the comments were about must statements in informative sections which were fixed

"hese kinds of

questions were ones WebAppSec originally brought to the WAI as subject

matter experts, but we haven't been able to obtain any clarification as to

how specifically they change the DOM event model."

mc: I don't know if there was a further attempt to resolve those issues after the initial thread
... his answer was we think it will work but not really sure
... what we are finding is a spec qaulity issue which is orthogonal to our obliogations but impacts our ability to review
... we no longer have the QA activity
... by the way I started drafting a set of requirements to drafting good introductions to specs
