<janina> Meeting: PFWG telecon

<janina> agenda: this

preview agenda with items from two minutes

<scribe> scribe: JF

Previous Meeting Minutes https://www.w3.org/2014/05/14-pf-minutes.html

JS: any news items before we get started?

RS: will be presenting on ePub on the Digital Publishing Forum

<richardschwerdtfeger> http://idpf.org/digital-book-2014

RS: 28th and 29th - next week

JS: would be interesting to see any media or PPT about this

RS: will be able to share a deck after the fact. Lots of companies are expressing interest in this. Many businesses are reporting that thier clients *hate* dealing with the PDF plugin

the biggest issue is for the companies to switch over

RS: some banks are starting to look at this. Take your banking history and convert it to an ePub format, and clients can read it without using a plugin

and it can be made more accessible

RS: IBM is creating a white paper on this, and hope to be able to share this soon

JS: any other 2 minute items?
... any edits to the minutes from last week?

RESOLUTION: publish minutes as submitted

TPAC 2014 http://www.w3.org/2014/11/TPAC/

JS: no news at this time. hope to see schedule "soon", but no indication when

MC: announced to the team

Actions Review (Specs) http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/actions/open

MC: reminder to JF - TTML images discussion

ACTION 1433 on MC

<trackbot> Error finding '1433'. You can review and register nicknames at <https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/users>.

MC: still working on action 1433

<MichaelC> close action-1431

<trackbot> Closed action-1431.

MC: looking at action 1431 - close it
... big action on cyns, rich, lisa on security

RS: haven't done it yet

MC: last call on that is 18 june
... thats it for currents
... there are some CSS ones we are tracking

JS: new publications, etc.?

<MichaelC> HTML Canvas 2D Context

MC: only new Last Call is HTML Canvas 2d context
... that's it for this week

<MichaelC> Robustness and Archiving CG

JS: new community groups?

MC: one - robustness and archiving

JF: perhaps somebody in the Coga TF might be interested in watching this Community Group

MC: can put this on the list of ones to watch

new on TR http://www.w3.org/TR/tr-status-drafts.html#tr_LCWD

Community Groups Checkin http://www.w3.org/community/groups/

<MichaelC> DRAFT SVG A11Y TF Work Statement

ARIA.Next Items

JS: where are we regarding best prtactices and authoring guide

RS: beleive matt king and james nurthem are on that

JN: not yet ready for working on now

MC: believe yo cn start now, some bugs, but nothing huge

JN: was waiting for the update, next up will decide an action plan / meeting schedules / etc.

JS: discussion on editors and Jason Kiss offer

RS: what is time commitment asked for?

JS: 1 day / week
... Jason can only provide 1/2 day

RS: feels a bit unrealistic

JS: don't think we will get anyone prepared to give a full dy a week
... likely need to discuss further
... the other question is - what repository does the work live in? Chairs said to talk to the editors of HTML
... finally...

at some point we will need to do for ARIA is create a formal TF, with a work statement, etc.

JS: P for 1.1 we need to get the paperwork better aligned

RS: will work with Michael on that

JS: not a pressure thing, just a close the loop item

RS: were are we at the charter discussion?

MC: need to look at my notes
... goal is to go to the AC before 2nd week of June
... so hopefully week of June 2nd - subject to 1 month review

JS; so hopefully we will have results by July 4th

MC: may not be in effect immeadiately, as there are usually some last minute cleanups
... but early July should be doable - but don't want to commit

Other Task Force Updates

JS: nothing specific
... a small concern at the html tf how long it is taking to close off items
... nothing we can really do here however

MC: is it a concensus question?

JS: no, more to do with availability of individuals

MC: editorial bottleneck?

JS: yes

discussion on status of HTML5.0

Flexbox

JS: we need to discuss flex-box
... believe we were going to do this in public

MC: feel ackward in putting draft reviews in public - not a major violation but it feels messy

<MichaelC> Flexbox redrafted review

MC: cys review included some comments that weren't taht interesting to this group
... one item around reflow; the balance was mostly around WCAG techniques, etc.

JS: indication WCAG Techniques is good

MC: as long as we indicate we do not expect formal response to those suggestions

JS: any objections to sending this as a PF response

RESOLUTION: PF approves sending the response at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-pfwg/2014May/0066.html as an official response from this group

JS: a few others that have been languishing, but we should review
... the other items on the agenda - no apparent actions
... propose we end early
... ajorned
