<MichaelC> Model for Tabular Data and Metadata on the Web

<MichaelC> Collaboration on Web MCKVIEIT Community Group
<MichaelC> Collaborative Software Community Group
We might want to leave this one on our list for now. There are lots of A11Y issues in this space.
<MichaelC> Semantic Water interoperability Model Community Group
<MichaelC> Maps For HTML Community Group
richardschwerdtfeger: had a great meeting on aria implementation
guides. will be refactoring by creating a core guide from the current, then at least two
others for HTML 5.1 and SVG2
... we are also converting over to ReSpec and
GitHub.
... There is a task force that will be formed between SVG and PFWG to
coordinate the publication of the implementation guide for SVG2.
... Should allow for
SVG drawings to be accessible across platforms.
... keyboard support is going to be
coming to SVG in browsers as well.
... task force call tomorrow that will work out how
the HTML5.1 implementation guide is going to be handled.
janina_: doing some work this. Getting some pushback from someone about the publication and patent decisions.
richardschwerdtfeger: the SVG group is happy we are going to do this work. There should not be an issue.
MichaelC: There seems to be a member and a non-member who raised an issue.
janina_: The w3c process is all about ensuring there are patent
disclosures. Publication coordination is not an issue. It can say whatever, but at the end
of the day a single person is going to do the publication.
... Any publication will
require resolutions from both working groups. Both groups will be involved at every step of
the process.
... both groups have the same domain lead. There will clearly be active
coordination and we will get the task force set up with the proper W3C sign-offs.
richardschwerdtfeger: At the last call the SVG working group did not have a problem with the work being done by the PFWG.
<janina_> DRAFT RESOLUTION: PF agrees to form a joint Task Force with the SVG Working Group to develop ARIA for SVG, to be jointly owned by our two WGs, and to be published by PF under PF's IP policy.
RESOLUTION: PF agrees to form a joint Task Force with the SVG Working Group to develop ARIA for SVG, to be jointly owned by our two WGs, and to be published by PF under PF's IP policy.
jamesn: what we are doing now is acting as an informal place to discuss authoring techniques. Not a formal task force.
janina_: Should we keep this as a joint task force?
MichaelC: It is going to continue to exist. Should it continue to be joint with PF? There is no harm in it.
jamesn: We are going to try this for a bit and if it doesn't work out, the task force will try something else.
janina_: I will take it off the agenda for future meetings.
HTML Task Force will discuss what we propose to do in the mapping document and how it is similar to what we are doing with SVG.
In the future we will work out the logistics of editing and contributing.
