JK: combined old MSAA and
MSAA+UIA Express
... renamed old MSAA + UIA2 column because it already included
both
LW: on the MSAA + IA2 column, is there an expectation of fallback to MSAA role when IA2 is not present. So that an MSAA AT or Narrator using MSAA bridge, could get the MSAA role
SF: checked firefox, and they are overwriting the MSAA role. need to check with FF on Win8 with narrator
CS: Behavior in Firefox with narrator for paragraphs/text is not the same as IE. Cynthia and Larry and need to investigate further.
JK: Alex Surkov sent mail discussing how having uiaexpress and ia2 need different implementions of msaa, and there are conflicts there to work through.
LW: To get both to work together, they're going to need to do interop testing. firefox relies a lot on AT to sort this out, and hte MSAA to UIA bridge isn't as smart as AT products. FF will need to develop and test to accomdate the bridge
JK: we are currently saying that you either do UIA express or IA2 and FF is stuck in the middle.
LW: or you can do UIA column.
JK: what path they choose will depend on what AT they want to support.
CS: maybe we need a section on what to do if you are trying to implement both IA2 and UIA.
LW: UIA can be done without MSAA, where IA2 cannot.
<scribe> ACTION: Larry to write up description of how UIA express and IA2 will work together. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/10/23-html-aapi-minutes.html#action01]
CS: Added an item to our todo list to figure out what recommendation we should make to user agents who want to both UIA and IA2
<jkiss> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Current_To-Do_List_and_Progress
JK: should note in teh doc that
UIA Express and IAEX are the same thing.
... for states and properties, will rename MSAA to MSAA+UIA
Express and we'll need to fill in column
CS: Went through action items on wiki. updates on wiki. http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Current_To-Do_List_and_Progress
Larry: Drag and Drop was implmeneted in IE, so maybe we can start with that for #43
CS: next meeting in 3 weeks. November 13.
