A.2.1.1 Text Alternatives for Rendered Non-Text Content
Open NON-TEXT CONTENT WITH TEXT ALTERNATIVES or create content with non-text content
Check if the editing view can render the non-text content in the editing view, if not then this SC is N/A
Check if the text alternatives can be programmatically determined: (a) for web-based tools, is WCAG2 1.1.1 passed? (b) for non-web-based tools is an accessible name/label present in the accessibility API (check with Platform Accessibility Service Test Procedure)
Open NON-TEXT CONTENT WITH TEXT ALTERNATIVES or create content with non-text content
Can the editing view render the non-text content in the editing view, if not then this SC is N/A
(a) Web-based: Is WCAG2 1.1.1 passed by the editing view? If so, then this editing view PASSES.
(b) Non-web-based: Is an accessible name/label present in the platform accessibility service that reflects the information conveyed by the non-text content (check with Platform Accessibility Service Test Procedure)
If there are multiple editing views and any FAIL, then the overall result is FAIL.
Open pre-prepared non-text content with text alternatives (if the authoring tool allows content to be loaded or pasted in) or create content with non-text content and text alternatives for that non-text content.
Test 1:
Can at least one editing view render non-text content (e.g. display an image). If not, then the SC is N/A.
Test 2:
(a) Web-based: Is WCAG2 1.1.1 passed by the editing view {LINK TO HOW TO MEET WCAG2 1.1.1}? If so, then this editing view PASSES.
(b) Non-web-based: Is an accessible name/label present in the platform accessibility service that reflects the information conveyed by the non-text content (check with Platform Accessibility Service Test Procedure)
If there are multiple editing views and any FAIL, then the overall result is FAIL.
