<trackbot> Date: 10 February 2012

<ChrisL> we now have a wiki

<ChrisL> http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/HCG/wiki/Main_Page

<ChrisL> the tracker is still attached to the wrong dbwg though

<scribe> scribe: janina

chris: we do now have a wiki ...
... not yet populated, but anyone in hcg can write, nd anyone in the public can read

debbi: will keep actions open because we still want media handling and discovery

public home page

debbi: looking for suggestions for the page?
... has a current members link that's only team readable

<ddahl> http://www.w3.org/2000/09/dbwg/details?group=@@@

chris: this is the old member tracker
... i'm trying to put together something that will be world readable

debbi: has telecon details, list info, history, ...
... send a note if you have ideas

<ChrisL> http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/HCG/track/

chris: OK. tracker now works. I have it switched over.

<ChrisL> the tracker now works

debbi: so i'll move the two open actions from the old tracker over

<ChrisL> ACTION: chris to test tracker [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/02/10-hcg-minutes.html#action01]

<ChrisL> trackbot, bye

<ChrisL> I will keep working on it

css last calls overview

debbi: we're considering a new hcg policy
... asking wg to send a rep to hcg to overview the new specs

<trackbot> Created ACTION-73 - Test tracker [on Chris Lilley - due 2012-02-17].

janina: i like this policy

chris: also schedule performance group is suggesting that last calls asking particular groups to review explain why the request to that particular group

janina: guidance can be helpful esp when a group knows they're concerned about certain sections of a spec

daniel: concerned this may be additional bureaucratic burden
... also concerned our hcg participation is so low

chris: expect more participation as we improve our communications

daniel: we have a long list of standing regrets

chris: we did try to find a better time
... we will work on finding a designee in wg's to attend if the chair's unable
... agree the standing list is too long, but we're working on it

debbi: don't think summary overview need be the chair, could be the editor

daniel: pretty sure most won't come to hcg call

chris: why?

daniel: because most don't find it useful

debbi: the times we address coordination issues, or topics of broad concern could be very useful
... lc reviews could be one such useful toward helping get things resolved
... bert suggested chris could overview the css lc's

daniel css ui -- adding things previously missed, better sizing, form elements padding boxes, etc

daniel: dropped appearance property, though mozilla uses it heavily still and may not go away there
... it's a 'kitchen sink' for things that make a modern ui and don't fit anywhere else
... css images ...
... various image values and replace contents, gradients
... only feature not marked at risk during upcoming cr
... gradients most important, we have multiple, perhaps 3 syntax in the wild currently
... css backgrounds-- incl new properties for 'image slicing'
... shadows, border aliases,
... pretty well implemented in most browsers
... probably will reach req at fast pace
... we went back to lc because there were a few issues to fix resolved in this week's f2f, and a few to go
... pf requested image lc to extend until feb 22, this was accepted
... full screen will be a joint effort with web apps

chris: remind end of lc for ui?

daniel: feb 14

chris: i have action from svg on that

debbi: svg was called out?

daniel: yes

debbi: are wai and svg aware they're called out?

chris: yes

janina: yes, pf has actions out and will discuss next week
... pf trying to be more present and responsive on css because of its importance to a11y

other topics

daniel: vendor prefixes ...

<ChrisL> http://www.glazman.org/weblog/dotclear/index.php?post/2012/02/10/Blaming-CSS-WG-is-too-easy-Brendan

<ChrisL> and http://www.glazman.org/weblog/dotclear/index.php?post/2012/02/09/CALL-FOR-ACTION%3A-THE-OPEN-WEB-NEEDS-YOU-NOW

danieldaniel: while not perfect, vendor prefixes have been helpful, and are now at risk with webkit becoming overloaded

<glazou> back
